Michelle founded NP Voice LLC in 2015 and currently serves as the President. Her vision and thought leadership in the nonprofit and philanthropic communities have been nationally and locally recognized. Michelle is an accomplished, award winning strategic planning, resource development, and public affairs social entrepreneur. Michelle founded NP Voice to help clients elevate their authentic voice to build strong, sustainable organizations that execute with maximum social impact and accountability.
Prior to founding NP Voice, Michelle served in various consulting, entrepreneurial and professional capacities for a cross-section of nonprofit, government, and corporate entities. She started Globarizons Strategy Group in 2008, which specialized in strategic planning for nonprofit, for-profit and government entities in the southeast. In Metro Atlanta, she assumed the role of Public Relations Director for Gwinnett County Public Library, one of the busiest library systems in the southeast. As a nonprofit executive in Florida, she served as the Public Information Officer/Director of Communications and Development for Hillsborough Kids, where she led the communications and fundraising efforts for one of the largest nonprofit organizations in Florida. She also served as the Director of Operations and Media for the well respected political consulting agency, Parsons-Wilson, and worked with clients both nationally and locally. Michelle started her career as a Y Girl with the Houston, Texas YMCA and worked with several YMCA associations in the southeast in senior management roles ranging from membership to marketing/PR to financial development to budget management and strategic planning.
Snapshot of Accomplishments and Awards
In December 2014, Michelle secured a Master of Public Policy with a concentration in Organizational Sustainability from Georgia State University. Michelle earned a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from the University of Houston, later completed post-baccalaureate work in communications and social work, and then achieved a Master of Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing. Michelle was awarded the 2012-2013 Legislative Fellowship Award from Georgia State University, where she worked for the Georgia Senate and studied performance-based budgeting through the lens of strategic planning and program evaluation.
Current community work includes: committee chair of the Leadership Gwinnett Management Team; vice chair of the Social Enterprise Alliance of Greater Atlanta; member of the Transformation Alliance Policy Committee; advisory board member of Gardens4Growing Community; president of the Dresden Square HOA; and Resource Development Committee co-chair for the JUST Energy Summit. Past community work includes: graduate of Leadership Gwinnett; member of the Foster Children’s Foundation Board of Directors; co-chaired the Gwinnett Emergency Preparedness Committee’s Get Ready Gwinnett initiative; charter member of the Rotary Club of Gwinnett Mosaic; chaired the Great Days of Service Marketing Committee; served as an advisor to the Gwinnett Coalition; and consulted with the Gwinnett County Human Relations Commission in establishing an initiative against the trafficking and sexual exploitation of children.
